This is a summary of Great Expectations by Charles Dickens Chapter 24 – 26
Chapter 24 : At the start of this chapter Pip and Mr.Pocket talk about learning then we learn Mr. Pocket is good person , he’s smart, honest, and kind . He also says it’s ok for Pip and Herbert to live together in the apartment . But first they have to go to Mr. Jaggers to get money. When they get the Jaggers tests Pip to see f he can count after he’s done testing him he gives him 20 pounds . After jaggers gives Pip the money wemmick gives them a tour of his office. Pip asks wemmick to tell him about the cast and he says . They are of two criminals who were sentenced to death one for murder and the other for forging wills and after their death Jaggers had the cast made of their faces. wemmick tells Pip he can come over to eat any time. He tells Pip that Jaggers will be inviting him to his place soon and to watch his Jaggers maid Molly. After this Herbert and Pip head over to the courthouse to see Mr. Jaggers in action.
Chapter 25 : In this chapter Pip goes to dinner at Wemmick’s house . (and his house is really nice) Wemmick asks Pip if he wants to meet the Aged. Pip wonders if he’s referring to a particularly stinky form of cheese. We learn that It’s Wemmick’s father and that he’s deaf. The Wemmick’s dad loves to be nodded at Wemmick tells Pip so Wemmick and Pip nod at him through the night.
Chapter 26 : Herbert and Pip goto eat dinner at Jaggers We see that Jaggers brings out the worst in people and the boys start to fight. Just like Wemmick said to Pip keeps an eye on Molly and he learns that she’s very weird just like wemmick said. During the night Jaggers grabs Molly by the arm to show how strong her hands and arms are.
